Khunsa's Cronies Nabbed By Tiger Trap

27 November 1994. 

Thai newspaper reported about multiple arrests made by a joint Thai-American law enforcement of drug suspects connected to Khun Sa of Shan State. 

The operation was code-named Tiger Trap. Altogether 11 "key associates" were taken into custody and reportedly extradited to the United States. 

In Bangkok, the authorities took the following persons: 

Ho Mingteh a.k.a Chatchai Pattarawibun, Yang Seuhua a.k.a Chalee Yangwiriyakul and Kuo Shangping a.k.a Thawee Apiradeethonsarn; 

In Maesai, Chiangrai, Na Hsai-kuei a.k.a Chukiat Nimitpakpoom, Kuo Famung a.k.a Asafa Sanlee, Chao Fusheng a.k.a Somboon Khamdaeng and Chang Yuenlong a.k.a Khamzuen; 

And in Maehongson, Lo Teh-ming a.k.a Somwang Oonman, Chang Tehch'ai, Liu Fengteh a.k.a Siewsing Sae-sia and Arhee a.k.a Wu Hsengshi a.k.a Meechai Pathummanee. 

One paper reported Kao Changying a.k.a Chamnarn Thanakiatpaiboon among the arrested but not Kuo Shangping. 

Khun Sa's spokesman, Col Khun Duan, however, told Bangkok Post that only Lo Tehming was the Mong Tai Army's member and that his presence in Thai territory was only to look after the sick and the disabled.
