Hair-raising seizure not reported
On 23 April, 3 Chinese coming from Mongkoe, the infamous drug town near the Chinese border, were searched by a team of narcotic agents led by Sgt. Myint Oo.
Altogether 91 "towts" (small plastic capsules each containing one injection or "smoke") of heroin were found on their person. On interrogation, one admitted they also carried more in their digestive canals.
According to the source in Muse, they were administered with purgatives at the town hospital. But failing to remove the alien masses in the suspects' bowels, doctors were ordered to conduct surgical operations on them.
Also on 17 March, a truck belonging to a Chinese from Namzang village in Muse was stopped at the Mao (Shweli in Burmese) ferry crossing. It was filled with barrels of acetic anhydride.
The agents also 'confiscated' an amount of hard cash from the owner. This as however not reported on state media.
