Khin Nyunt : Khun Sa Shall Visit Homong

A report coming from across the border says Khun Sa is due to visit his old headquarters of Homong soon, according to a public address given there on Tuesday by Gen. Khin Nyunt. 

The powerful Secretary 1 of the State Law and Order Council was reported to have said, "Khun Sa's health has been failing. Due to the economic and diplomatic pressures he is facing, his spirits are also ebbing. We have therefore decided that he should come and stay some time in Homong to revitalize himself." 

He was speaking to the people who had gathered to listen to him, said the sources. According to the source, Khun Sa's visit would be well ahead of the monsoons. 

The report, coming from a reliable source, so far could not be confirmed. 

Khun Sa set up Homong from a village of 14 houses into a prosperous town during his heydays from 1985 to 1995. He left Homong soon after his surrender in January 1996.
