DEFECTORS' HOMESICKNESS

Since September 1995, some soldiers under Maj. Phome Mar and Maj. Karn Yord, who have defected from the MTA in Lao Kha area have been telling some of the monks in Lai Kha that they want to return to MTA. Some of Karn Yord's men have been complaining that only Karn Yord is being called back, not including them. They say that leaflets that had been circulated from the MTA headquarters had ended up in the hands of the officers, and they had known nothing about it.
