Panglong remembered

On 12 February, the Panglong Agreement that signifies full autonomy, democracy and human rights for all nationalities in Burma turned 60 years.

Whereas the event is celebrated as the Union Day in Burma, the Ethnic Nationalities Council (ENC), has instead brought the Panglong Agreement to the forefront, as a reminder that the said treaty was the basis for the Union, without which it would not have come into being.
