Famous Shan abbot passes away
Most Venerable Bhaddanta Aggamahapantita Nyanasambhara, 84, of Wat Pitaka at the historic town of Panglong, passed away last evening at 07:13 (Burma Standard Time) at the Taunggyi hospital.

His remains are being taken today to Panglong where the details of his funeral
will be discussed.
A native of Langkher, Sao Nyanasambhara, as he was known, was born on 14
October 1924. He was known for his several translations of Pali texts into
Shan.
Three other Shan monks well-known and revered both inside and outside Burma are
Khrubar Boonchoom Nyanasangvaro of Mongphong, Dr Khammai Dhammasami of Oxford
Vihara and Venerable Sukhaminda of Muse.
