Shan community in Chiang Mai mourns for the late Princess

Yesterday, Shan community in Chiang Mai led by the Shan Literature and Cultural Committee, Chiang Mai (SLCC) organized a 15 days of mourning for the death of Her Royal Highness Princess Galyani Vadhana.

Over 50 representatives from different Shan organizations joined the ceremony gathering and signed the condolence message at Thapae gate in Chiang Mai.

The condolence messages read by one of the members of the SLCC includes, “We, the Shan community live under the shade of the royal family and we are deeply saddened by the loss. We pay respect and pray for the late Princess and we wish her to rest in peace in Nirvana.”
 
Princess Galyani Vadhana, elder sister of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej of Thailand, passed away on January 2 at the age of 84 after a long battle with abdominal cancer.
