The scholars from Vietnam, Laos, Thailand and Burma are expected to be participating in the event. SHAN is still asking for further details.
“I won’t be able to give you any details, until I get to Kunming,” he told SHAN from Jing-hong, Xixuangbanna autonomous prefecture.
Burma will be represented by two foremost Shan academics: Sai Aung Tun and Dr Hsang Ai, he said.
The festival coincides with the celebration of 20th anniversary peace building between the National Democratic Alliance Army-Eastern Shan State (NDAA-ESS) and the Burma Army at Mongla, opposite Yunan province’s Daluo, on 30 June.
