Funeral in Bangkok
Sao Lern aka John Hpa, 61, passed away at Bangkok’s Bamrungrat Hospital last night, 29 February at 22:00. He had been suffering from lung cancer, according to one of the organizers of his funeral.
Sao Lern will be cremated at the Loom Charoen Satha temple, Yannawa, on
Tuesday, 4 March, he added.
Sao Lern was the son of Sao Hom Hpa, the last ruling prince of Hsenwi
(1915-1959). He is related to Harn Yawnghwe, Director of Euro Burma
Office, and Kham Harn Fa, Secretary of Shan Human Rights
Foundation.
