Spoils of War

On 13 July, the Shan State Army's Kengtung Front, active in eastern Shan State, clashed with the Burma Army's Monghpyak - based Light Infantry Battalion 329 at Monghai, north of Tachilek, opposite Chiangrai. According to local sources, the LIB 329 suffered 16 killed including officers. (Burma Army seeks to block rebel movements, 21 July 2005, original report mistook the unit as LIB 316)
