Thais uniting junta factions? 

A Shan who just returned from Rangoon told S.H.A.N. this morning bickering factions of the Burmese military have now appeared to be united because of the emerging Thai-Burma conflict. 

"All of us who were in Rangoon to observe the Armed Forces Day (27 March) celebrations were struck by the apparent harmony between (Gen.) Maung Aye and (Gen.) Khin Nyunt", said the source. "They also seemed to be dead set against the Thais. Listening to them, I couldn't help wondering whether they had forgotten their animosity against each other". 

He, however, did not elaborate. 

The Thais and Burmese just completed a 3-day regional level talks in Kengtung. The results are expected to be made known some time today or tomorrow.
